Wound Care Program
WOUNDS CAN BE PAINFUL AND HARD TO MANAGE.
We have created a Wound Care program to assist patients heal their wounds while educating them about proper treatment. The purpose of the Wound Care program is to provide a holistic, comprehensive approach to wound care management. So, whether you are having difficulty healing a surgical incision or suffering from a pressure ulcer, we will develop a treatment plan that is right for you. Our dedicated team includes a Wound Care certified nurse and physicians.
When is Wound Care needed:
Here are some common signs and symptoms to look for when you have a wound:
- An increase in drainage of change in the color of the drainage
- In increase in swelling
- An increase in pain.
- An increase in redness and/or tenderness around the wound site.
- An increase in odor to the wound
- A change in the odor of the wound.
Do I need a Referral for Wound Care?
Answer: Yes. Any physician can make a referral to the outpatient Wound Care program at Morrison Community Hospital. Once the referral is received, an appointment will be set up for the patient to meet with the certified wound care Nurse.
